David Ehrenstein is a seasoned science communicator and physicist, currently serving as Senior Editor for Physics Magazine at the American Physical Society since January 1998. In this role, David oversees the Focus section and news features, previously holding the title of Focus Editor since 2018. David also founded the online publication Physical Review Focus, which merged with Physics Magazine in 2011. Prior to this, David gained experience as an intern science journalist at Science Magazine and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the National Institutes of Health, specializing in the biophysics of the cochlea. David Ehrenstein holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BA in Physics from Oberlin College.
