Sakun Duwal, Ph.D., currently serves as a Member-at-Large for the American Physical Society (APS) and as an R&D Technical Advisor to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). In the role at APS, significant contributions include co-chairing the Early Career Student Symposium at the SCCM 2023 and chairing the APS Student and Dissertation Award Committee, where modifications to award amounts and frequency were successfully proposed. As a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories since August 2018, Sakun also holds roles as a Senior Member of Technical Staff and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Additionally, involvement with Nature Portfolio as an Editorial Board Member for Scientific Reports began in June 2023. Education includes a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Washington State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Wyoming.
