Zachary Pruett currently serves as a Public Engagement Intern at the American Physical Society, focusing on the Science Trust Project, which equips members to tackle science misinformation and fosters public engagement on topics such as climate change. Previous experience includes roles as an Activity Counselor and Leadership Staff for the Rocketry Program at Camp High Rocks, and as an Instructor at Blue Ridge Community College, where courses in Electronics Engineering Technologies were taught. Zachary's background also includes graduate studies at Appalachian State University, where responsibilities involved teaching and assisting in Astronomy and Optics labs, alongside conducting stellar photometric data reduction research. Additionally, research experience at the National Institute of Standards and Technology includes data collection for projects involving stellar and lunar spectral irradiance. Zachary holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering Physics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Physics from Appalachian State University.
