Randall West

Randall West has a diverse work experience. Randall currently holds the position of Technology Director at the American Planning Association, where they are responsible for managing the software development and data team. Randall has played a key role in growing the team by recruiting and mentoring new members. In addition, Randall has led project discovery with stakeholders and subject matter experts to determine business priorities. Prior to this role, they served as the Manager of Web and Application Development at the same organization, where they guided decisions and fostered best practices in agile processes, tech frameworks, deployment, and documentation. Randall was also involved in crafting and supporting over 50 applications for APA members, APA staff, and customers.

Outside of the American Planning Association, Randall has been involved with the Chicago Composers Orchestra. Randall served as the Artistic Director and played a crucial role in establishing the mission, artistic direction, and organizational operations of this Chicago arts nonprofit. Randall also served as the Artistic Co-Director, Co-Founder, and Board Vice President, where they worked closely with the fellow co-founder/co-artistic director to represent and set artistic direction for the organization's concert seasons.

Randall West completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Chicago from the year 1997 to 2001. Randall then pursued a Master of Music degree in Composition at Roosevelt University between 2007 and 2009.
