Janet Box-Steffensmeier

Janet Box-Steffensmeier has been with the Ohio State University since 1993. Janet holds the position of Vernal Riffe Professor of Political Science and Professor of Sociology (courtesy) since 2003. Janet is also the Director of the PRISM Program and has been in this role since 2003. Janet also served as the Interim Executive Dean and Vice Provost of the College of Arts & Sciences from April 2018 to July 2019. In addition, they are currently the President of the American Political Science Association since August 2019. Prior to this, they were the Divisional Dean for Social and Behavioral Sciences & Graduate Studies for the College of Arts & Sciences from August 2014 to April 2018.

Janet Box-Steffensmeier received their B.A. degree (Magna Cum Laude and Honors Program) from Coe College in 1988. Their field of study at Coe College was Mathematics and Political Science. Janet then went on to pursue a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Government at The University of Texas at Austin from 1988 to 1993.
