David Balfrey

David Balfrey is a seasoned executive in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at American Power Resources since December 2023. Prior to this, David held multiple senior leadership roles at Apex Clean Energy from 2010 to 2023, including Senior Vice President of Technology, where oversight of a 50 GW project portfolio in various stages was a key responsibility. David also led departments in Asset Management and Technology, focusing on risk management and performance delivery for energy assets. Earlier experience includes roles at Acciona Energy, where David managed wind resource assessment projects and served as a Senior Staff Scientist. David holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a Master's degree in Geography from Appalachian State University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree from Pfeiffer University.
