Daniya Tamendarova

Director, Author Marketing And Business Development at American Psychological Association

Daniya Tamendarova began their work experience in 2002 as a Jennings Randolph Research Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace. Daniya conducted research in Russian and English, and also edited and prepared a manuscript for publication. In 2003, they joined the International Center for Alcohol Policies as a Research Associate and later became the Head of Publications from 2007 to 2011.

In 2011, Tamendarova started working at the American Psychological Association (APA) where they held various roles. From 2011 to 2014, they served as the Managing Director of APA Journals, overseeing a portfolio of journals and representing APA in contract negotiations. Daniya played a key role in launching APA's first open-access journal. From 2015 onwards, they assumed the position of Director, Author Marketing and Business Development, where they led a team responsible for growing APA Journals and other APA Publishing portfolios. Daniya also played a significant role in the development and maintenance of APA's open access publishing program and negotiated agreements with academic library consortia.

Daniya Tamendarova earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations and Political Science, with a minor in Economics, from Saint Elizabeth University from 1998 to 2002. Daniya then pursued a Master of Arts in German and European Studies (MAGES) at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, they completed the London Internship Program in Economics/Politics of the European Union at Boston University in 2001 and participated in the Semester on the United Nations program at Drew University in the same year. Furthermore, they completed the American Institute on Political and Economic Systems Program (AIPES) at Charles University in 2000. Daniya Tamendarova is currently working on a Graduate Certificate in EU Studies at the American Consortium on EU Studies.
