Michael Coe

Vice President For Physical And Cyber Security Programs at American Public Power Association

Michael Coe has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Michael is currently working as the Vice President for Physical and Cyber Security Programs at the American Public Power Association (APPA). Prior to this, they held several positions at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), including Director of Defense Critical Electric Infrastructure and Director of Energy Planning and Strategy. Michael also worked as a Senior Manager/Manager at ICF and held three progressively responsible positions at The Hawthorn Group, L.C., where they provided strategic and crisis communications counsel for clients in highly regulated industries. Additionally, they served as a Communications Liaison at Camber Corporation and worked in campaign management and strategic communications at McEachin for the Future and the Office of U.S. Representative Juanita Millender-McDonald. Michael started their career as an Associate at the American Chemistry Council.

Michael Coe earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Richmond between 1995 and 1998. Later, they pursued a JD in International Law from the University of Baltimore School of Law from 2003 to 2006.
