Polly Hanson

Polly Hanson has extensive experience in security, risk management, and law enforcement. Polly began their career as the Chief of the Metro Transit Police for The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority and later served as the Assistant General Manager for the Department of System Safety, Emergency Management, and Metro Transit Police. Polly then became the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. Following this, they worked as the Director of the Office of Law Enforcement and Security for the U.S. Department of the Interior. Polly also held the position of Security Expert at Kiernan Group Holdings, where they focused on leveraging law enforcement access to develop and share concepts, practices, and technology related to intelligence. Polly has experience at the senior level in the law enforcement field, including their role as the Chief of Police for the Amtrak Police Department. Most recently, they worked as the Senior Director of Security Risk & Emergency Management and the Director of Security and Emergency Management at the American Public Transportation Association, where they coordinated the development of transit security, risk, and emergency management standards and policies.

Polly Hanson has an educational background that includes a Master's degree in Behavioral Science from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Temple University. Polly also obtained a Master's degree from The Johns Hopkins University, although the field of study for this degree is not specified. In addition to their academic achievements, Polly has obtained certifications such as WSO-CSSD from the World Safety Organization and COVID-19 Contact Tracing from The Johns Hopkins University.
