Tonya Breymier Ph.D.

Tonya Breymier PhD, RN, CNE, COI is a seasoned nursing education professional currently serving as the Chair for the Nursing Department and Associate Professor at the American Public University System since July 2024. Prior to this role, Tonya was the Dean of Nursing at Arizona College from August 2022 to June 2024 and served as Campus President at Chamberlain University in Indianapolis from December 2021 to August 2022. Additional experience includes directing the Nursing Program at the University of Dayton, holding the position of Associate Professor and Associate Dean at Indiana University East, and beginning as a Lecturer at the same institution. Tonya's career in nursing initiated at Wayne HealthCare, where extensive experience as a Registered Nurse was developed from July 1989 to June 2005. Academically, Tonya has advanced degrees in Nursing and Public Service Leadership, alongside specialized training in Leadership in Simulation.
