Melissa Thurn

Melissa Thurn is an experienced costume designer and manager currently serving as the Interim Assistant Costume Manager at American Repertory Theater since July 2024. Prior roles include Costume Design Assistant at The Santa Fe Opera, Assistant Costume Director at Hartford Stage, and Costume Project Manager at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where responsibilities involved collaborating with designers, sourcing materials, and managing wardrobe departments. Melissa's extensive background in the field includes working as an Assistant Costume Designer for Cognetti Films and serving in various capacities at educational and community theater programs. Melissa holds a Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia College in Classical Studies, Heritage and Museum Studies, and Theatre Arts.
