Michael started their career as a Staff Accountant at AvalonBay Communities, where they prepared financial statements, reviewed the general ledger, and reconciled bank statements. Michael then moved on to become a Controller at the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, where they oversaw accounting, audit, HR, budgeting, and financial reporting functions. Later, they served as Chief Financial Officer at NXL Construction Services, Inc., responsible for directing the organization's accounting functions and preparing financial reports. Michael then joined the IRS as a Revenue Agent, conducting examinations and investigations of complex tax returns filed by large businesses and researching complex tax issues. Currently, they are serving as the Chief Financial Officer at the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, overseeing all accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for various entities. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, cost analysis, and predicting future revenues and expenses.
Michael Forsythe CPA MBA completed their education in a chronological manner. Michael first attended York College of Pennsylvania from 1995 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Following that, they attended the Virginia Commonwealth University - School of Business from 2008 to 2010, earning a Masters of Business Administration degree. Lastly, in 2020, they participated in the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst program at the Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI).
