George Stewart

George Stewart is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Superintendent at the American School Foundation of Monterrey since July 2021. Prior to this role, George held the position of Head of School at EF Academy from January 2017 to July 2021, where the focus was on providing students with superior education abroad. Additionally, George served as Executive Director of Education and New Markets at EF Educational Tours, contributing to the launch of new STEM and Career Technical Education programs. Earlier experiences include roles as Director of Curriculum and Program Innovation at EF Education First, Head of Language Department at Middlesex School, Dean of Academic Affairs at Trinity-Pawling School, and Spanish Teacher at Harvard-Westlake School. George holds a BA in Spanish and Political Science from Bates College, a Klingenstein Fellowship in Private School Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an MA in Spanish and Latin American Literature from Middlebury College.
