Eric Schondorf joined American Securities in 2005. The general counsel’s office oversees all legal and regulatory matters affecting American Securities and the funds that it manages, including providing legal and advisory support to the investment teams and the portfolio companies in all matters including mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies, financing, contract negotiation, risk mitigation and general corporate matters.
Prior to joining American Securities, Eric spent five years at Weil, Gotshal & Manges as Of Counsel in the Business Finance & Restructuring Department representing companies, investors, senior lenders and bondholders in complex restructurings. He was also vice president and general counsel of Metallurg, an international producer and seller of high-quality specialty metals, alloys and metallic chemicals. In his early career, he was an associate at Weil, Gotshal & Manges where he focused on banking and finance, private equity investments, high yield offerings, public company representations, and mergers and acquisitions.
Eric received a BA in Economics from Yale University and a JD from New York University School of Law.
