Mariana T. Torres-Mulero has a range of work experience in various roles and organizations. Mariana T. began in 2020 with Estudia en tu Hogar as an English Literature Tutor and Biology Tutor. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at PR-SPRinT. In 2021, they joined NASA PR Space Grant Consortium as a Summer Undergraduate Research Intern and later as an Undergraduate Research Fellow in the NASA Puerto Rico Space Grant Fellowship Program. Mariana T. also took on the role of Vice President at the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). Currently, they are working as a Clinical Investigation Intern at Yale University School of Medicine.

Mariana T. Torres-Mulero is an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, where they are pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology. Mariana T. is expected to complete their undergraduate studies between 2019 and 2023.

Founded in 1906, the Society is based in Rockville, Maryland. The Society's purpose is to advance the science of biochemistry and molecular biology through publication of scientific and educational journals: the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Molecular & Cellular Proteomics, and the Journal of Lipid Research, organization of scientific meetings, advocacy for funding of basic research and education, support of science education at all levels, and promoting the diversity of individuals entering the scientific workforce.
