Laura L.'s work experience includes various roles and internships in the medical field. In 2022, they served as a Medical Student Component House of Delegates for the American Society of Anesthesiologists® and also worked on the Recruitment and Representatives Committee for WOMEN IN ANESTHESIOLOGY. At Advocate Aurora Health, they were a Russell Research Center Intern, assisting with a project on parenteral nutrition in the surgical intensive care unit.

Laura has gained research experience as a Research Assistant for the Alcohol and Addiction Research Group at the University of California, San Francisco. Laura has also undertaken specialized fellowships, including the Scaife Medical Student Fellowship in Substance Use Disorders at the Institute for Research, Education and Training in Addictions, and the Summer Institute for Medical Students at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
Before their medical education, Laura worked as a Medical Assistant at San Francisco Voice and Swallowing, associated with San Francisco Otolaryngology.
Laura L. began their educational journey in 2015 at the University of California, Berkeley, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Cognitive Science. Laura dedicated herself to their studies until 2019 when they completed their undergraduate program. During their time at Berkeley, Laura took the opportunity to broaden their academic horizons by participating in an exchange program at McGill University. In 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Cognitive Science at McGill University. Now, they are enrolled at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin U-Med & Science, where they are working towards earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. Laura is expected to complete their MD program in 2025.
