Laura Shachter Casper has over 25 years of experience in visual design and front-end development. Laura started their career as a Web and Graphic Designer at the Chicago Sun-Times in 1990, where they quickly expanded their responsibilities to include various business verticals. In 2003, Laura was promoted to Lead Designer for suntimes.com. From 2013 to 2014, they worked as a UI/UX Visual Designer at Sun-Times Media Productions, providing design and development solutions for media publications and mobile apps. In 2015, Laura worked as a Freelance Visual Designer, showcasing their expertise in information design and mobile/web applications. Currently, they serve as a Senior Visual Designer and Front-End Developer at the American Society of Anesthesiologists®, bringing their creative and technical skills to the organization.
Laura Shachter Casper holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) and an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Technology Management and Industrial Design from Purdue University. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications. These include a Customer Experience Champion certification from Forrester in May 2019, a Nielsen Norman Group UX Certificate in June 2018, and a SharePoint Designer 2013: Branding SharePoint Sites certification from Lynda.com in June 2016.
