Ms. Cochran joined ASCO in 2020, and is responsible for the oversight of ASCO’s journals, ensuring practitioners worldwide have the latest evidence-based oncology research to improve patient care and outcomes. She has 22 years of experience managing comprehensive programs in engineering and medical scholarly content.
Ms. Cochran served as Managing Director and Publisher at the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), where she led a self-operated publishing division, oversaw management of multiple digital platforms, and defined strategies for product development and revenue growth. In addition, she served in publishing roles at the American Cancer Society and Pearson Education.
Ms. Cochran’s commitment to the publishing industry and status as a thought leader has been well established. She is first person to be elected president of both the Council of Science Editors and the Society for Scholarly Publishing, and currently serves as Deputy Editor of The Scholarly Kitchen, leading an ongoing dialogue of industry developments.
Ms. Cochran holds a B.A. in English from Stonehill College, as well as a minor in Journalism/Mass Communication.
