Jim Weinland

Jim Weinland is the Senior Manager of Membership Database Operations at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy. Jim has over 20 years of experience in managing membership programs, recruitment and retention campaigns, and governance activities for a variety of organizations.

Weinland began their career at IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology) where they were the Manager of Customer Engagement and Membership Experience. In this role, they directed all membership development and corporate engagement programs and designed new customer subscription and corporate membership models.

Jim then spent two years at MCI USA as the Director of Membership Services for Association Solutions. In this role, they were responsible for managing a portfolio of 10 different association clients, negotiating scope of service contracts, leading strategic planning sessions with volunteer leaders, implementing new association management systems, and training account teams.

Weinland has been with the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy since July of 2022 and has been instrumental in creating a membership database that is efficient and user-friendly. Under their leadership, the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy has seen a significant increase in membership retention and growth.

Jim Weinland has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography and film from Ohio University. Jim is certified as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership.

Jim Weinland reports to Alex Wendland, Director of Communications. They work with Kristen Pate - Marketing Manager, Devin Rose - Communications Manager, and Barb Gamez - Senior Marketing Manager.
