Ion Despoiu

Ion Despoiu has a strong background in information technology, with experience in various leadership roles. Ion currently serves as the Staff Vice President of Business Technology and Innovation at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), where they are responsible for steering technology operations and software product development. Ion has maximized infrastructure resiliency and stability by migrating the organization's entire technology footprint to AWS cloud. Prior to joining ASPS, Ion worked as the Director of Information Technology at APICS, where they led IT operations and web and application development. Ion spearheaded the cloud migration to Microsoft Azure, improving infrastructure resiliency and stability. Ion Despoiu received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. Ion furthered their education at the same university and completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration from 2002 to 2005.
