Shelby Matula

Shelby Matula is an experienced visitor services and program management professional, currently serving as Visitor Services Manager at The American Swedish Institute since February 2016, where responsibilities include enhancing the guest experience for approximately 70,000 annual visitors and supervising a team dedicated to front-of-house services. Prior roles include Special Events & Public Programs Coordinator at the same institute, managing large-scale events for over 11,000 attendees, and Education & Program Coordinator at Franconia Sculpture Park, providing arts education to 13,000 patrons. Additional experience includes administrative coordination at Progressive Consulting Engineers, historical interpretation at the Minnesota Historical Society, and various leadership roles at the Duluth Area Family YMCA. Shelby holds a Master of Arts in Arts & Culture Management from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Studio Art from the University of Minnesota Duluth, along with a study abroad program in Florence, Italy.
