Joshua Winograde has held various roles in the music and opera industry over the years. Joshua started their career as a Young Artist Program participant at the Houston Grand Opera in 2000. Joshua then worked at the Fisher Center at Bard, The Juilliard School, and Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in various assistant and directorial roles. In 2007, they joined LA Opera as Senior Director of Artistic Planning, and later became Senior Director of Artistic Programs at the same company. Joshua also served as Vocal Casting Director (Consultant) at the American Symphony Orchestra and Fisher Center at Bard. In 2017, they became the Director of Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and Associate Artistic Administrator at the Metropolitan Opera. Joshua'smost recent role was as Director of Opera and Professor of Opera Studies at Rice University starting in 2023.
Joshua Winograde attended Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences from 1986 to 1992, completing their 7th-12th grade education. Joshua then went on to study at The Juilliard School from 1994 to 1998, earning their Bachelor of Music degree with a focus on Music. Joshua continued their education at The Juilliard School from 1998 to 2000, achieving a Master of Music degree.
