American University Business Law Review
Cole Newton is an accomplished legal professional with diverse experience in various legal and legislative roles. Serving as Editor in Chief and previously as a Junior Staffer at the American University Business Law Review from April 2022 to June 2024, Cole provided leadership within the publication. A Law Clerk at the United States Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations during the summer of 2023, Cole gained valuable insights into federal investigations. As a Fall Enforcement Legal Scholar at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in late 2022, Cole contributed to enforcement efforts in the Office of Distributions. Additional experience includes a Judicial Internship in the Kentucky Court of Justice under Chief Circuit Judge Charles Simms and Circuit Judge Joseph Ballard, a Research Internship at Brevia Consulting, a Legislative Internship in the office of Congressman Brett Guthrie, and a role as Sports Information Assistant at Centre College. Cole Newton is currently pursuing a Doctor of Law (JD) at American University Washington College of Law, anticipated in May 2024, following an undergraduate degree from Centre College.

The American University Business Law Review (AUBLR) is a student-run publication that provides cutting-edge legal analysis for the business law community. It is the only law review in Washington, D.C. dedicated solely to business issues. The AUBLR publishes fall and spring issues that include scholarly articles, case law analysis, and coverage of developing trends in a variety of areas, such as financial regulation, international trade, antitrust, communications, healthcare, and energy. We welcome articles submitted by academics, practitioners, and law students.
