Elie-Jacques Fares

Elie-Jacques Fares has diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Elie-Jacques'smost recent position is as a Guest Associate Editor at Frontiers since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the American University of Beirut from 2017, where they held the positions of Diet Clinic Lead and Assistant Professor of Clinical & Sports Nutrition. Elie-Jacques has also worked as a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre de recherche du CHUS in 2023 and as a Visiting Researcher at Myant Inc. in 2017. Elie-Jacques completed their PhD in Medical Sciences at the University of Fribourg, Dept. of Medicine / Physiology from 2013 to 2016 and was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Lausanne, Physiology department from 2012 to 2013. Elie-Jacques gained experience as an intern at the Institut universitaire romand de Santé au Travail in 2011 and as a research assistant at EPFL in the same year. Additionally, they served as an intern at Swiss Olympic in 2009 and worked as an assistant fitness instructor and administrative assistant at Lebanese American University from 2007 to 2008.

Elie-Jacques Fares completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology at the Lebanese American University in 2008. Elie-Jacques then pursued a Master's degree in Movement Science, Training and Performance at the University of Geneva and University of Lausanne from 2008 to 2010. In 2013, Elie-Jacques Fares enrolled at the Université de Fribourg - Universität Freiburg and earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism in 2016. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate of the CTI entrepreneurship - Swiss Federal Training Program from EPFL Innovation Park Foundation in 2015. Elie-Jacques Fares also holds various certifications including Laboratory Health and Safety from the Université de Sherbrooke in 2023 and Civil Rights Investigator Level Two from the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) in 2018.
