Hisham Bawadi has extensive work experience in the nursing and healthcare field. Hisham started their career in 2004 as a Registered Nurse at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, where they provided direct and indirect care for patients in various nursing units. Hisham then worked as a Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at the AUB Hariri School of Nursing and the Lebanese University, teaching courses in Medical Surgical Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, and Fundamentals.
In 2010, Bawadi became the Nurse Manager of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the American University of Beirut-Medical Center, overseeing the unit's programs and providing leadership to the staff. Hisham later served as the Vice President of the Order of Nurses in Lebanon, assisting the President in their absence and representing the Order to private and public authorities.
Bawadi returned to the American University of Beirut Medical Center in 2011 as the Nurse Manager and Specialty Clinics Nurse Administrator, where they led and guided the staff and ensured compliance with standards and policies.
In 2016, they took on the role of Assistant Project Director and Clinical Lead for Epic Implementation, responsible for planning and tracking activities of the Epic implementation project.
Most recently, Bawadi held the position of Director of Nursing at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, where they were responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the nursing practice across the organization. Hisham provided leadership in nursing matters, participated in decision-making processes, and sustained the standards of practice throughout the organization.
Hisham Bawadi completed their Master of Science (M.S.) in Nursing from the American University of Beirut in 2010. Hisham is currently pursuing an Executive MBA from the same university, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
