Alison Chrisler

Alison Chrisler serves as the Director of Undergraduate Programs in the Department of Health Studies at American University since August 2018, where responsibilities include guiding faculty, overseeing curriculum development and accreditation, analyzing data for recruitment and student performance, and mentoring students. Chrisler has also held positions as a Professorial Lecturer and Adjunct Professor, teaching various public health courses. Currently a Certified Child Life Specialist at Children's National Hospital, Chrisler specializes in direct patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Previous experience includes founding Blue Ribbon Floral, managing program expansion at Hope for Henry Foundation, conducting research at Chapin Hall, and serving as a postdoctoral researcher at Penn State University. Educational credentials include a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies, an MA in Youth Development, and a BS in Child Life and Studies in Education, all from Michigan State University and Edgewood College.
