Katharine Manning

Katharine Manning serves as the President of Blackbird since July 2019, focusing on training and consultation related to empathy in the workplace. Additionally, since August 2019, Manning has been an Adjunct Professor at American University, teaching courses on Victim Rights, Introduction to Law, and Ending Gender-Based Violence. Prior experience includes serving as a Senior Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice from 2004 to July 2019, where responsibilities included policy representation for the Executive Office. Manning also worked as a Litigation Associate at Pillsbury Winthrop from 2000 to 2004, leading multimillion-dollar litigation and handling various aspects of trial preparation and motion practice. Manning holds a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law and a BA in Government from Smith College.
