Javier Maymí-Pérez has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Javier is currently working as an Adjunct Professor at Syracuse University, where they teach a Journalism course in Spanish. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Communications at the Law School Admission Council.

Earlier in their career, Javier served as the Senior Editor of CENTRO Tampa - The Tampa Tribune, overseeing the operations and editorial content of the Spanish weekly newspaper.

Javier Maymí-Pérez holds a Master's in Liberal Arts with a focus on Florida Studies from the University of South Florida, which they obtained from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science also at the University of South Florida, from 2015 to 2017. Their earlier education includes a Bachelor's degree program in History and Communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, which they pursued from 1987 to 1990. Javier also earned a high school diploma in Music Performance, General from the Interlochen Center for the Arts in 1987 to 1985. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained certifications in Thriving @ Work: Leveraging the Connection between Well-Being and Productivity and Working Remotely from LinkedIn, in April 2020 and March 2020 respectively.
