Tara Pylate

Tara Pylate currently serves as a Program Advisor at American University since February 2022, following a role as an English Language Fellow with the English Language Programs from September 2021 to July 2022. Prior experience includes positions as an English Instructor and Faculty Coordinator at the Community College of Qatar from August 2014 to July 2020, and as an English Instructor and Director of the Writing Center at The American University of Afghanistan from August 2011 to July 2014. Tara also held roles as a Student Development Specialist and Coordinator for Freshman Orientation at the same institution, and previously worked as a Financial Aid Advisor at Arkansas Northeastern College from June 2010 to July 2011. Additional experience includes teaching English as a Second Language at Shanghai University of Electric Power in 2007. Tara Pylate holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Memphis, a Master of Science in Communication from Arkansas State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Harding University.
