Theora Sumler

Theora Sumler is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in strategic content development and outreach initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of Communication and Outreach at American University School of Communication since August 2019, Theora also holds the position of Assistant Director of Communications and Outreach at another organization since September 2015. With a previous role as Senior Manager of Marketing and Web Communications at the same university from 2007, Theora's career includes pivotal positions such as Online Communications Manager at the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights and Research Librarian at People For the American Way. Theora holds a BA in French and Political Science from Rutgers University and has studied at the University of Vermont.
