William Stebbins

William Stebbins is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media and academia. Currently serving as a Senior Communications Officer at The Independent Evaluation Group since October 2019, William has also held senior roles such as Senior Communications Officer at the World Bank Group and External Affairs Consultant for the Middle East North Africa Division. Additionally, William has contributed as an Adjunct Professor of Communications at American University, teaching about Contemporary Media in a Globalized Society. Previous positions include Bureau Chief for the Americas at Al Jazeera English, where responsibilities included setting up the Washington Broadcast Center and managing regional activities, and Latam Regional Editor at Associated Press Television News, overseeing all Latin American bureaus. Early in the career, William was Head of the TV Unit at United Nations TV and is an alumnus of Hampshire College with a BA in Communications.
