Mike graduated from Purdue University in 1993 and began his career in 1994 with Gas Tech, Inc., a large employee-owned Midwest distributor. Praxair purchased Gas Tech in 1999 and Mike continued his career with Praxair. He completed a comprehensive training program where he learned all aspects of the industry. Mike became a Territory Manager and won several National Sales Awards. He chose to expand his leadership role into different regions and relocated to Tampa, FL for 4 years and then to St. Louis, MO where he spent 10 years in the St. Louis market.
In 2017, Mike and his family moved back to Northwest Indiana and he joined AWG. Mike is now the Senior Vice President for AWG’s Central Region which includes locations in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

We are an employee owned company that is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our company provides industrial, medical and specialty gases as well as food and beverage gases across the United States, from Montana to Georgia. With a team of over 600 plus employees, 75 retail locations and 16 fill plants we pride ourselves in our customer service, expertise, assets and resources that allow us to reach a large and diversified customer base at the highest quality. AWG originated from Valley Welding Supply located in Billings, Montana and Scott-Gross Company located in Lexington, Kentucky. Both of these companies began back in 1949 and have allowed us to grow through acquisitions as well as organically.
