Director of Finance & Operations at American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

Miranda Martin joined AYPO in late 2018 after graduating with an M.B.A. and M.A. in Arts Administration from the University of Cincinnati, Carl H. Lindner College of Business and College-Conservatory of Music. Raised in a musical family, she studied with the Louisville Youth Orchestra for nearly a decade, and continued her violin studies for over 16 years. She also holds a B.M. in Violin Performance and a B.A. in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky, School of Music. Miranda has worked with the National Symphony Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival and School, Prague Summer Nights Music Festival, Lexington Philharmonic, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and UC College-Conservatory of Music in operations, production, artist management, and developmental roles. As General Manager, she has managed the three full orchestras: American Youth Philharmonic, American Youth Symphonic Orchestra, and American Youth Concert Orchestra, and multiple ensembles including Flute, Harp, Chamber and Junior Chamber Ensembles, along with administrating the operational support, and financial management of the organization and its programs.

American Youth Philharmonic Orchestra

The American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras (formerly known as the Northern Virginia Youth Symphony Association) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to foster, promote, and increase the musical knowledge and appreciation of the general public, primarily by establishing, maintaining, and operating one or more symphony orchestras, concert groups and ensembles of young performers of instrumental music and by organizing and presenting performances by such orchestras, groups and ensembles. The Orchestras are dependent on the generosity and support of givers who share in its mission and purpose.
