Jim Starr has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Jim started their career as a senior consultant at McManis Associates, where they worked on various consulting projects focused on healthcare and government sectors. From there, they moved on to the American Red Cross, where they held several leadership positions, including Vice President of Volunteer Management, Division Vice President, CEO of the Greater Alleghenies Blood Region, Chief of Staff and Chief Strategist, and Vice President of Corporate Strategy. Following their time at the American Red Cross, Jim Starr became the President and CEO of America's Charities, leading a team of 50 staff members and driving growth in organizations served and revenue. Jim also served as the Interim CEO and COO and Chief Business Development Officer at America's Charities. Additionally, Jim Starr worked as a non-profit and association strategy consultant at Starr Consulting Associates, helping organizations define and execute strategic direction and strengthen revenue generation results.
Jim Starr attended James Madison University from 1985 to 1988. Jim did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during this time. Jim then went on to George Mason University from 1988 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communications. Finally, from 1990 to 1992, Jim Starr attended Virginia Tech and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Management.
