Carlos N. Guimarães

Carlos N. Guimarães is the current Director at Americas Society / Council of the Americas. Prior to this, they were the Managing Director at Citigroup from May 2000 to November 2004. Carlos was also previously at Inter-American Development Bank from January 2005 to December 2006 as the Private Sector Coordinator. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating all private sector activities of the IADB Group, developing and implementing the strategic direction for the IADB Group in this area, and defining the guidelines and basic principles for an integrated private sector business plan. Carlos also chaired the Private Sector Committee and was a member of the Coordination, Programming and Finance Committees.

After receiving their Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Carlos N. Guimarães pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration in Finance from The Wharton School.
