Here at AmeriGuard Security we are looking for Armed Security Officer. This position is responsible for deterring criminal activity by adhering to a facility’s security measures. Their duties include reviewing video surveillance equipment to identify odd behaviors, patrolling the interior and exterior of a property in set intervals and only providing property access to authorized individuals.

Armed Security:

A successful as an armed security officer, you should be able to exercise discretion regarding the use of your weapon. Ultimately, the outstanding armed security officers will seek to expand their self-defense and weapons training beyond the mandatory level.

  • Protecting locations from harassment, physical attack, vandalism, and other forms of abusive or unauthorized treatment.

  • Ensuring that your weapon is well always maintained and secure.

  • Utilizing your weapon in times of when deadly force is necessary (will be covered in more depth during your training/onboarding).

  • Recording the details of each person who visits the facility, if applicable.

  • Completing and submitting incident reports after noteworthy developments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ Experience (Required)

  • United States Citizen (Required)

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. (Required)

  • Three years of Armed Security experience or three years of Military experience or Law enforcement.

  • Armed Forces, National Guard or Reserve service. (Not required)

  • Must have Pennsylvania State Gun Permit ACT 235 with lethal weapon. (Required)

  • Must be able to pass Government background and receive a clearance MBI. (Required)

  • Must be able to pass a physical and a drug screen. (Required)

  • Must be able to pass a course of fire on the range with a 9mm. (Required)

  • Employees must attend 120 hours of security training provided by contractor to be eligible to work on this contract (paid training will be at minimum wages). (Required)

  • Must possess First aid & CPR (provided during training) (Required)

  • Relevant weapons license and training.

  • Other requirements may apply to the security positions posted in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

  • Clear criminal record.

  • Excellent decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently, particularly when under duress.

  • Neat, professional appearance.

  • Capacity to work on your feet for extended periods.

  • Ability to work morning, evening, and night shifts.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift

  • Holidays

  • Day Shift - Night shift - Overnight shift - Overtime – On call - Weekend availability a must

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Wilkes-Barre, PA.: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Armed Positions:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Act 235 certificate (Required)

  • Guard Card (Required)

Salary Range:

  • $24.00 /hour
  • Weekend Shift Differential: $1.75 per Hour
  • Night Shift Differential 10pm-6am: $1.25 per hour
  • Combined Night and Weekend Differential: $3.00 per hour

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. AmeriGuard Security Services, Inc. will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

CPR/First Aid certified (strongly preferred)
