Gerald Marti, MD, PhD is a Physician Scientist who spent the last 30+ years in the US Public Health Service at the NIH and FDA studying hematological malignancy. He received his MD and PhD from Northwestern University Medical and Graduate School in 1977 followed by an internship and residency in Medicine at Northwestern University completed in 1980. He retired from the Public Health Service in July 2010 and in Jan 2011 began working part-time as a Medical Officer for the Office of In Vitro Diagnostics and Radiological Health (OIR), CDRH, FDA. In 2012, Dr. Marti was recipient of the ICCS Wallace H. Coulter Award in recognition of his many contributions to the field of clinical flow cytometry.
