Tony James has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Tony began their career in 1997 at Safeco Commercial Insurance, where they were responsible for new business production and renewal account underwriting. Tony then joined CNA Insurance in 2003 and held various roles, including Underwriting Director for the Construction Segment and Assistant VP, Select Risk Programs National Leader. In these roles, Tony was responsible for developing underwriting guidelines and overseeing multiple programs in the non-standard, surplus lines division. Since 2014, Tony has been working at Amerisure Insurance as the Director of GL & Umbrella Lines of Business, where they focus on the Construction market segment and oversees underwriting controls and profitability.

Tony James has obtained multiple certifications in the field of insurance. Tony holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, the Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation, the Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) designation, and the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. The CPCU designation was granted by The Institutes, while the CRIS designation was obtained from the International Risk Management Institute, Inc.
