Shota Avaliani

Shota Avaliani, CFA, currently serves as the Head of Risk at Ameropa since January 2023, bringing extensive experience in risk management from previous roles. At VTB Capital Trading, Shota held the positions of Executive Director and Director of Risk from November 2017 to January 2023. Prior experience includes serving as Head of European Oil Credit and Senior Credit Manager at Mercuria Energy Trading S.A. from January 2013 to October 2017, and as Credit Manager and Analyst at Glencore and Mizuho Corporate Bank, respectively. Earlier in the career, Shota was a Credit Analyst at TBC Bank, where significant achievements included building and managing a $65M energy loan portfolio. Shota holds an MBA in Finance from both Alliance Manchester Business School and Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, as well as a BA in Finance from Tbilisi State University.
