Matthew Lent

Matthew Lent currently serves as the Division VP of Systems Engineering & Innovation at AMETEK since August 2025, where responsibilities include the creation and implementation of engineering and New Product Development programs for the Materials Analysis Division. Previous roles include Sr. Director of Engineering at KLA from July 2022 to August 2025 and DVP of Engineering for Gatan & EDAX at AMETEK from October 2019 to July 2022. Lent also has extensive experience, having worked as Director of Shared Engineering at Gatan Inc. from December 2008 to October 2019 and Sr. Systems and Electrical Engineering Manager at KLA-Tencor from 1998 to 2008. Earlier in the career, Lent served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1986 to 1992 as an AT2, where duties included HH-3F Aircrew stationed at Otis AFB in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Lent holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
