Karen Southern

Karen Southern is an experienced environmental manager currently serving as the Environmental Manager for Midlands & South West at Amey since June 2023. Previously, Karen held the position of Associate Director at Hydrock from January 2018 to May 2023, where transformation of the Geo-environmental team focused on delivering quality technical solutions, alongside responsibilities in health, safety, compliance, financial management, and project delivery. Karen's career includes significant roles at Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure as a Principal Geo-Environmental Engineer, and at Mouchel Parkman and Mott MacDonald, where expertise in managing geo-environmental investigations and project management was applied. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Engineering Geology from the University of Leeds and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the University of Plymouth.
