Amnon Schlegel

Amnon Schlegel, MD, PhD, serves as the Clinical Research Medical Director at Amgen, focusing on late-stage development of metabolic assets since May 2025. At the University of Utah School of Medicine, Schlegel has held roles as an Adjunct Associate Professor and previously as an Associate and Assistant Professor, conducting extensive research on fasting metabolism, diabetes mellitus pathogenesis, and lipid metabolism. Professional experience also includes medical director positions at Ultragenyx and Terns Pharmaceuticals, emphasizing clinical development in rare bone diseases and trials in obesity and liver disease, respectively.
