Irene von Hennigs

Irene von Hennigs, PharmD, is a highly experienced pharmaceutical executive with a focus on medical affairs in rare diseases. Currently serving as Vice President at Amgen since October 2020, Irene holds multiple leadership roles including Therapeutic Area Head for both the Rare Disease Business Unit and Inflammation & Vasculitis. Prior to Amgen, Irene was with Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2012 to 2020 as Executive Director and Therapeutic Area Medical Lead for Complement-Hematology and Nephrology. Additional experience includes a position as Director of Clinical Science Managers at AbbVie and a role as Senior Product Development Scientist at AstraZeneca. Irene completed a Hospital Pharmacy Practice Residency at The Johns Hopkins University and earned a PharmD from Mercer University, along with a BA in Biology from Notre Dame de Namur University.
