Kaiyi Jiang is the inaugural Amgen Science Fellow, focusing on training and employing deep learning models to design therapeutic molecules. In Fall 2026, Kaiyi will join Princeton University as an assistant professor in Bioengineering. Previously, Kaiyi completed a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology under the guidance of Dr. Jonathan Gootenberg and Dr. Omar Abudayyeh, and earned a B.S. in Biological Engineering from Rice University, graduating summa cum laude in 2021. Kaiyi's research interests include mining biological diversity for applications in genome engineering, synthetic biology, and gene and cell therapy.
