Pawan Dhingra

Pawan Dhingra is an accomplished academic and administrator currently serving as the Interim Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer and Associate Provost at Amherst College since July 2018. With a robust background in sociology and American studies, Pawan has held various leadership roles, including Professor and Chair of the Department of Sociology at Tufts University and President of the Board for the South Asian American Digital Archive. Pawan's experience includes significant contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives across multiple institutions, along with a history of curatorial work at the Smithsonian Institution. Pawan holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology, with a focus on Asian American Studies from Cornell University.
