David Staszak is a seasoned professional in machine learning and particle astrophysics, currently serving as the Lead Machine Learning Scientist at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) since March 2023. Previously, David worked as a Data Scientist at Atomo, Inc. from May 2017 to February 2023, leading projects focused on machine learning models for identifying undiagnosed patients with rare diseases. David has also contributed to academia as a Lecturer at the University of Chicago, teaching Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics, and held postdoctoral positions at both the University of Chicago and McGill University, engaging in particle astrophysics research. David's research background began at UCLA as a Graduate Research Assistant in nuclear/particle physics, complemented by earlier roles at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Colorado Boulder, where David obtained a Ph.D. in Nuclear/Particle Physics.
