Joan Hertz

Joan Hertz is the Director of the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. Joan has held this position since January 2019. Prior to that, they served as Vice President External Affairs and Corporate Counsel for NorQuest College from November 2015 to January 2019. From February 2004 to July 2008, Joan was the Corporate Counsel for Capital Health. Joan also has experience as a lawyer, having worked at McCuaig Desrochers from January 1994 to December 2004. In addition, Joan is a qualified ICD.D and has their own company, HertzBenk Enterprises Ltd., which they ran from January 2008 to December 2015.

Joan Hertz received an LL.B from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.
