Marlene McNaughton

Marlene McNaughton is a Director at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. Marlene has over 20 years of experience in marketing, business development, and strategic consulting.

Previous to their current position, Ms. McNaughton was the head of their own consulting firm, MCNAUGHTON CONSULTING LIMITED, where they worked with small to owner-operated companies, including several start-ups. There, they helped map out business cycles to find new opportunities to amplify businesses during peak seasons and smooth out the cyclical nature of the business.

Marlene also worked with the creative/marketing director of a premium cable company to develop a marketing plan using social media and PPC to increase engagement, acquire new customers, and increase retention. The goal was to demonstrate the potential impact of social media and help build their internal social media capabilities.

In 2018, Ms. McNaughton helped the founder of an Aboriginal-owned business successfully sell the rights to their business. The company creates 100% natural, environmentally friendly bath and body products.

Ms. McNaughton has a proven track record in helping businesses grow and succeed. Marlene is an expert in marketing, business development, and strategic consulting.

Marlene McNaughton is a DMI Expert and has a degree in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute. Marlene also has a Bachelor of Journalism (Honors) from Carleton University and a Business Admin & Marketing (Honors) from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology). Marlene also has an International Trade Diploma (with Distinction) from Forum for International Trade Training and a Strategic Marketing Certificate from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.
