Senior Machine Learning Scientist at Amira Learning

Claire Gu has been working in the field of machine learning for over nine years. In 2012, they began their career as a Research Engineer at DHC Software, where they developed ways to recognize name entities such as patients' symptoms and the corresponding prescript medicine. Claire also assisted the company to exploit the recognition system to structure messy prescriptions. In 2014, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Washington, where they performed statistical tests to correlate gene mutations and drug sensitivity, and applied Bayesian methods to build predictive models using multivariate regression techniques. In 2015, they took on an internship as a Research Intern at Apple. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer and Software Engineer at 23andMe. In 2021, they joined Amira Learning as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist.

Claire Gu obtained their Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Nankai University in 2012 and their Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Washington in 2015. In 2018, they also obtained the AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate certification from Amazon Web Services.
