Alex Liu

Alex Liu has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Alex began their career in 1999 as an intern at Hitachi, followed by an internship at Siemens in 2000. In 2002, Alex joined Atheros Communications as a Business Development Manager, where they closed a custom development deal with a China-focused telecommunications company and initiated partnership discussions with Samsung for embedded IP. In 2008, they moved to Samsung Electronics as a Product Marketing Manager, consummating an embedded IP partnership with Atheros. From 2010 to 2013, Alex worked at Qualcomm as a Director of Marketing, leading business development efforts for powerline communications and assuming P&L responsibility for Ethernet-over-Coax product line. In 2013, they became the CEO of MaiCoin, Ltd., and in 2016, they took on the role of CEO at AMIS Technologies, leading a distributed ledger consortium of financial institutions and exploring applications in payment, insurance, securities, IoT, with an analytics layer and identity management integrated as well.

Alex Liu received a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University between 2000 and 2002. Alex also received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University between 1996 and 2000. Additionally, Alex has obtained two certifications from Coursera, one in Financial Engineering & Risk Management and one in Startup Engineering.
